5. Returns & Refunds (14-Day Cooling-Off Period)

In line with the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013:

    You have 14 days from the day after receiving your order to cancel and request a return.

    Products must be unused, in original packaging, and in resaleable condition.

    To initiate a return, contact us at support@thekarateshop.co.uk with your order details.

    Refunds will be processed within 14 days of receiving the returned goods.

    Return shipping costs are the buyer’s responsibility unless the item is faulty.

Exclusions:

    Personalised, custom-made, or hygiene-sensitive products (e.g., mouthguards) are non-returnable unless faulty.

6. Faulty or Damaged Goods

    If an item is defective or damaged on arrival, notify us within 7 days.

    We will arrange a replacement, repair, or refund at no extra cost.

7. Privacy & Data Protection (GDPR Compliance)

Weapon and Training Aids discalimer and legal notice

1. Age Restrictions

  • All buyers of martial arts weapons (including but not limited to nunchaku, training swords, staffs, and other similar items) must be at least 18 years old.

  • Proof of age may be required prior to dispatch. Orders will not be fulfilled without satisfactory verification where applicable.

2. Compliance with UK Law

  • It is the buyer’s responsibility to ensure that any item purchased complies with all local, national, and international laws governing possession, transport, and use of martial arts equipment.

  • Certain items may be classified as restricted or prohibited weapons under the Offensive Weapons Act 2019 and other relevant legislation.

  • The Karate Shop does not condone or permit the illegal use of any items sold. All products are sold strictly for martial arts training, demonstration, display, or collection purposes.

3. Training and Supervision

  • All weapons and training aids sold are intended for use under the supervision of a qualified martial arts instructor in a controlled training environment.

  • Improper or unsupervised use of such equipment may result in serious injury or legal consequences.

4. Buyer’s Liability and Indemnity

  • By purchasing, you confirm you are legally entitled to possess such items and will use them safely and lawfully.

  • You agree to indemnify and hold harmless The Karate Shop, its owners, and affiliates from any liability, injury, damage, or legal action resulting from misuse, negligence, or unlawful possession/use of purchased items.

5. Export & International Sales

  • If purchasing from outside the UK, it is the buyer’s responsibility to ensure that importation and possession of such items comply with their local laws.

  • The Karate Shop is not liable for seized or confiscated goods where import restrictions apply.

6. Safety Disclaimer

  • All products sold are used entirely at the buyer’s own risk.

  • The Karate Shop accepts no responsibility for injuries, accidents, or damages resulting from improper or unlawful use.

  • Safety equipment (such as gloves, headgear, or eye protection) is strongly recommended when training.
